We are really lucky at the Harry S. Truman Little White House to have an auxiliary group called Harry’s Girls. Harry’s Girls was started by Mary Haffenreffer, who enlisted some of Key West’s most talented and generous folks to help us restore the furnishings of the house back to its original 1949 look. These girls (and guys) have been scouring internet auctions, hosting informational events, working on the gardens, and cataloging items. Using computer enlargements of 1949 photos they have been able to recreate the period flower arrangements and match fabrics used for the draperies and pillows.
